Beaches Resorts has announced a nearly $1 billion expansion plan to double its footprint within the next five years by introducing new resorts across three islands and significantly enhancing its award-winning Turks and Caicos property.
Adam Stewart, Executive Chairman of Beaches Resorts, revealed the plans at the company’s Made of Caribbean global launch event in New York City. The expansion includes new Beaches resorts in Barbados and Exuma, The Bahamas, and the Beaches Runaway Bay Resort in Jamaica. Additionally, Stewart offered a preview of the new Treasure Beach Village coming to Beaches Turks and Caicos.
“As a family from the Caribbean, we have a deep love for our islands, and it’s incredibly gratifying to draw inspiration from our guests,” said Stewart, in a press statement. “Our growth strategy is rooted in meeting their wants, with the importance of family time being at the core of our brand’s DNA. We know that now, more than ever, families are prioritizing connection and seeking enriching, multigenerational vacations. We are committed to not only meeting this demand but going above and beyond to wow them with new product offerings and provide unforgettable shared experiences.”
Beaches Resorts’ Ambitious Growth Strategy
Since its inception in 1997, Beaches Resorts has established itself as the go-to vacation destination for families. With locations in Jamaica and Turks and Caicos, the brand has consistently delivered premium, all-inclusive experiences tailored for travelers of all ages. Beaches has become synonymous with family-friendly offerings, including Caribbean Adventures with Sesame Street, Kids Camps, expansive waterparks and its pioneering Autism Program, certified by the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES).
The expansion begins with Beaches Barbados, set to break ground in late 2025. This inaugural Beaches resort on the island will feature 600 guestrooms, ranging from king suites to ample 4-bedroom suites with private oceanfront balconies. The resort’s design will showcase Bajan Style, a luxurious interpretation of Caribbean Georgian architecture. A standout feature will be the Main Street, a winding resort center with numerous dining and shopping options, plus family zones, including outdoor performance stages and a sports bar and arcade.
Beaches Exuma will be the brand’s debut in The Bahamas, occupying 500 acres in the Out Islands. The resort will transform the existing Sandals Emerald Bay property into a family-friendly paradise, reconfiguring its 249 keys to include multi-bedroom villa suites. With 12 restaurants, a Kids Camp, a splash park, Red Lane Spa and the brand’s exclusive Sesame Street partnership, Beaches Exuma will capitalize on the destination’s famous crystal-clear waters. Of note: Guests will enjoy complimentary access to the Greg Norman-designed 18-hole Emerald Bay Golf Course.
In Jamaica, Beaches Runaway Bay Resort will offer approximately 400 spacious suites and villas catering to extended families. The resort will feature dedicated wellness areas, innovative activities like skateboarding and bike trails, a climbable treehouse and access to the Runaway Bay Golf Club. Organic farm-to-table dining will add a unique culinary touch to the guest experience.
The expansion also includes enhancements to existing properties. Beaches Turks and Caicos will introduce the new Treasure Beach Village, bringing the resort’s total capacity to 858 keys across six villages. This addition will feature 101 suites, including beachfront 4-bedroom villas accommodating up to 10 guests. Treasure Beach Village will debut the brand’s first food hall and introduce Butch’s Island Chophouse, a favorite from Sandals Resorts. Reservations for this new village are now open.
Recently, Beaches Negril in Jamaica unveiled the Beaches Barbados, 3-story accommodations for families of up to 10, featuring four bedrooms, living areas and private pools. The resort also introduced the Eventide Penthouse Collection, welcoming up to 18 guests with access to a rooftop terrace perfect for stargazing.
