Palace Hotel Tokyo is building its 2026 holiday season around A Tokyo Christmas, a 2-night package that lets clients choose a Grand Deluxe guestroom, an Executive Suite or a Premier Suite. Each stay includes daily breakfast, a 5.9-foot faux Christmas tree decorated with lights and ornaments, a bottle of Dom Perignon Champagne, a tin of Christmas cookies and a holiday cake from Sweets & Deli, the hotel’s pastry shop. Suite bookings include Club Lounge access, though children younger than 13 are not permitted entry after 5:30 p.m.
A Very Tokyo Christmas
The 284 guestroom and suite hotel anchors a billion-dollar, mixed-use development that debuted in 2012 after a ground-up rebuild. It’s located in Tokyo’s Marunouchi district with views of the Imperial Palace gardens. It features Evian SPA and 10 restaurants and bars. During the season, a 16-foot Christmas tree takes center stage in the grand lobby.
City lighting displays run from early November through the Christmas holidays, and the concierge team can arrange a private-car Tokyo Illuminations tour. Stops include Marunouchi Naka Dori, a half-mile, tree-lined boulevard that runs from near the hotel to Ginza, along with Omotesando and Shibuya. The itinerary can be tailored to add Christmas markets: a German-style market at Roppongi, the city’s largest at Meiji Jingu Gaien and a holiday fair at Azabudai Hills.
Dining options extend past the package. Grand Kitchen, the hotel’s all-day restaurant, features a large, see-through fireplace and a wine menu of more than 550 selections. Esterre by Alain Ducasse serves contemporary French cuisine, while Japanese choices include kaiseki at Wadakura, teppanyaki at GO and tempura at Tatsumi.
Christmas lunch and dinner menus run Dec. 19-25. Esterre plans blue lobster, wagyu filet and foie gras Rossini. Wadakura features matsuba, kobako and king crabs. Grand Kitchen offers traditional roast beef, seared scallop and an ice-cream-style Buche de Noel on a family-friendly menu.
At Sweets & Deli, home-baked stollen, kouglof, berawecka and panettone get Japanese twists. The Bohnen Stollen uses yuzu-flavored marzipan and kinako (soybean flour), and the Kouglof de Noel folds sweet chestnuts into a matcha dough finished with a raspberry chocolate glaze. Handcrafted Christmas cakes are available in limited quantities, and advance orders are required.
Booking requests for A Tokyo Christmas open Oct. 1, must arrive at least seven days before check-in and are subject to availability. Rates start at about $1,938 for double occupancy and include a consumption tax but exclude accommodation tax and service charge. Stays are limited to Dec. 1-26, with a latest check-in of Dec. 24.
