Princess Cruises is bringing cruise planning into AI technology, giving travelers a new way to search itineraries, compare ships and destinations, and check cruise pricing and availability through an AI-powered conversation.

The new Princess Cruises app in ChatGPT connects travelers with information and services from Princess, allowing them to use natural-language questions to explore the cruise line’s offerings and website.

“There is a broader shift in travel discovery as consumers increasingly use generative AI not simply to find information, but to help evaluate choices and plan increasingly complex trips,” said Neena Vicente, Princess Cruises VP of Digital Commerce and Experience, in a press statement. “This launch places Princess at the forefront of agentic commerce in the cruising industry, creating a new entry point into cruise discovery that inspires guests to find the vacation that is right for them.”

How Princess Cruises AI Tech Works

Travelers can connect the Princess Cruises app within ChatGPT and search more than 330 cruise destinations across 17 ships. They can search by destination, travel dates and cruise length, then continue refining their options through follow-up questions.

For example, a traveler could ask for seven-night Princess cruises visiting Santorini in August 2027 or request help planning an Alaska cruise. They can then narrow the results by asking which itineraries visit Glacier Bay National Park, which sail from Seattle or how two cruises compare.

The app also allows users to explore ports, shore excursions, cruise tours, onboard experiences and packages while planning. Princess says travelers can also check current cruise pricing and availability through the experience.

Cruise Lines Using AI Tech

Princess isn’t the only cruise line experimenting with AI.

Virgin Voyages introduced Rovey, an AI planning assistant designed to help travelers navigate cruise options from initial discovery through booking, including itinerary, pricing, destinations and onboard experiences.

MSC Cruises, meanwhile, has rolled out MSC Concierge, an AI-powered assistant within its MSC for Me app that helps guests answer questions, make restaurant and spa reservations, book shore excursions and receive personalized recommendations in more than 90 languages.
