Intrepid Travel to Resume Egypt Small-Group Tours

Intrepid Travel will resume its small-group tours to Egypt on April 1. The company paused all domestic flights roughly two weeks ago, after the regional conflict began to affect Egyptian airspace and regional flight operations.

While Egypt tours are returning to operation, Intrepid confirmed that trips to Jordan and Oman will remain suspended until at least April 15 as the company continues to monitor regional conditions.

Flexible Policies to Encourage Bookings

To help rebuild traveler confidence, Intrepid is maintaining a flexible booking policy, offering 100 percent credit to guests who are unable to reach their departure point due to flight cancellations or airspace disruptions. Travelers also have the option to rebook to other destinations or receive refunds for land components, depending on regional regulations.

Industry observers say the restart could serve as an important early test of the Middle East’s tourism recovery in 2026. For travelers, the relaunch means the return of small-group journeys to Egypt’s iconic sites, including the Pyramids of Giza, Luxor and Aswan.

Intrepid confirmed that it is enhancing on-the-ground monitoring and maintaining close communication with consular authorities, while continuously reviewing local advisories and airspace developments.

The success of the April 1 restart will depend largely on continued stability in regional air corridors and the absence of further disruptions that could force additional suspensions.

For Egypt’s tourism sector, however, the return of organized tours represents an important signal that international travel demand may be gradually returning.
