RIU Hotels & Resorts has officially entered Thailand with the opening of Hotel Riu Palace Phuket, a new 5-star, all-inclusive resort on the island’s northwest coast.
Located on Mai Khao Beach next to Sirinat National Park, the resort is about 10 miles from Phuket International Airport. The opening marks RIU’s first hotel in Thailand and expands the company’s presence in Asia.
What Travelers Can Expect
Hotel Riu Palace Phuket features 504 guestrooms spread across several low-rise buildings connected by covered walkways. Room categories include spacious Junior Suites, while 49 rooms are part of the resort’s Elite Club by RIU.
Elite Club guests receive perks including private check-in, access to an exclusive restaurant and pool, premium drinks, an upgraded minibar, welcome amenities and aromatherapy service. Swim Up rooms with private terrace pools are also available.
The resort has six swimming pools, including two for children and one reserved for Elite Club guests. Other facilities include a fitness center, steam bath and Renova Spa offering treatments, massages and hair services.
Six Restaurants, Seven Bars
The resort’s all-inclusive program includes six dining venues, ranging from the main Chantra restaurant with live cooking stations and themed buffets to Thai restaurant Ruen Siam, Italian restaurant Il Gusto, a steakhouse and casual Pepe’s Food grill. The hotel offers seven bars, including a sports bar, a pool bar with a swim-up section and Capuchino coffee and ice cream shop.
Families can take advantage of the RiuLand kids’ club, while RiuFit offers sports and fitness activities. The resort also has daily daytime and evening entertainment. The property incorporates several sustainability features, including solar panels for clean-energy generation and a rainwater collection and recycling system used to irrigate its gardens.
