The American Society of Travel Advisors (ASTA) has announced the booking timeline for ship accommodations and pre- and post-Expo trip opportunities tied to the 2027 ASTA River Cruise Expo, set for March 10-14 in Vienna, Austria. Registrants can now preview available Expo ship accommodations, along with pre-Expo and post-Expo opportunities, before booking officially opens.
The booking process unfolds in stages. A “Know Before You Book” webinar is scheduled for Sept. 24, 2026, at 2 p.m. ET. VIP Admission booking for Expo accommodations opens Sept. 28, 2026, at 1 p.m. ET, followed by General Admission PLUS+ booking on Oct. 1, 2026, at 1 p.m. ET and General Admission booking on Oct. 6, 2026, at 1 p.m. ET. Selections close in the Attendee Portal on Oct. 26, 2026.
Ship accommodations during the Expo are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and once inventory sells out, there is no wait list. If cabins on a given ship sell out, ASTA has arranged backup land accommodations at hotel properties in Vienna near the river port. Participating vessels include:
- AmaWaterways‘ AmaBella, AmaReina and AmaSonata
- Avalon Illumination and Impression
- Scenic Jasper and Emerald Astra
- Viking Rhinda and Ullur
- VIVA TWO and Tauck‘s MS Savor
Optional pre- and post-Expo trip opportunities extend the event beyond its 4-day window. Examples include a 2-night Avalon Impression sailing round trip from Vienna, a 5-night Tauck MS Savor cruise from Vilshofen to Vienna, and land-based stays at Palais Rudolf and Spittelberg in Vienna ahead of the Expo. Post-Expo examples include AMADEUS Nova‘s four-night Wine Cruise on the Danube, a 7-night Riviera MS William Wordsworth sailing from Vienna to Budapest, and a 4-night Riverside Debussy sailing from Vienna to Regensburg.
Accommodations and trip add-ons are not included with registration and require a separate fee, and attendees sharing a cabin should have only one person complete the booking. ASTA is not securing a hotel guestroom block for the 2027 Expo, so attendees must book hotel accommodations separately.
