Viking Holdings Ltd has named Leah Talactac as Chief Executive Officer. Talactac, who previously served as President and Chief Financial Officer, succeeds Viking Founder Torstein Hagen, who will transition to Executive Chairman and continue overseeing the company’s long-term strategy.

The move comes as Viking reports strong forward bookings for 2026 and 2027, signaling continued momentum in the premium cruise sector and ongoing demand for destination-focused travel experiences.

“This leadership transition reflects the strength and depth of Viking’s management team and the succession planning we have built over many years,” said Hagen, in a press statement. “Leah’s appointment as CEO is a natural next step, and the Board and I have full confidence in her ability to lead Viking with the same continuity, discipline and vision that have guided us since Viking was founded.”

“I am honored by this appointment and deeply grateful for the trust of the Board and Tor,” said Talactac, in a statement. “Tor and our entire executive team have built a phenomenal company over the last 29 years, and I am delighted to lead Viking as we continue to deliver meaningful experiences for our guests and execute our long-term strategy.”

The company also appointed Linh Banh, previously Executive VP of Finance, as Chief Financial Officer.

Viking Reports Strong Bookings & Fleet Expansion

Viking said it has already sold 92 percent of its core product capacity for the 2026 season and has begun building strong demand for 2027 departures. The cruise line attributed the performance to an extended booking window, targeted marketing efforts and continued interest in immersive, destination-driven itineraries.

Executives also pointed to growing consumer demand for experiential travel despite broader economic uncertainty.

Viking also continues to grow its fleet across multiple cruise segments.

The company recently took delivery of a new European river vessel, Viking Eldir, and announced plans to add two additional ships in Egypt by 2028. Viking also acquired an additional ocean ship, Viking Yidun, further expanding its capacity as it prepares for future growth.

The company expects to take delivery of two ocean ships and nine river vessels during the remainder of 2026.
