Tour operator Up Norway has added new adventures to its already extensive northern portfolio—including a new foray into Scandinavia. But first, the polar bears.

The company’s new Far Out Svalbard Journey, which occurs on the remote Norwegian archipelago of the same name, takes your clients to where polar bears outnumber humans. Best taken anywhere from May through early September, when polar bear moms are more active with their cubs, this 7-day adventure includes a King Crab diner in Longyearbyen, the world’s northernmost town; a RIB cruise on the west coast of Spitsbergen (think whales, seals, polar bears and thousands of nesting birds); a Walrus Safari at Borebukta Bay on a hybrid boat; a hike to explore a glacier followed by an arctic fjord cruise; a coal mine dining experience (4-course meal); and a chance to explore Longyearbyen on an e-bike.

Up Norway is Extending Services into Scandinavia

In a first for Up Norway, the company has headed to Denmark and Sweden to create the 15-day Nordic Wellness – A Feelgood Journey Through Scandinavia. As its name implies, this is a curated journey that dives deep into Nordic wellness practices, as well as unique culinary experiences, mental and physical activity, sleep therapy and more. This tour is available from April through October.

The tour begins in Copenhagen, with a day trip to South Zealand for a forest walk, a detour to Mons Klint, and a train journey to the west coast of Sweden, where your clients will enjoy an organic vineyard and a boutique spa hotel. Spa treatments, fine dining, saunas and a unique underwater offering await. The next part of the tour focuses on healthy sleep—Up Norway, together with the Oslo Sleep Clinic, has hands-on sleep therapy for your clients. They can explore Oslo by foot and water, including a private floating sauna experience and a visit to The Well, an innovative wellness oasis. The next part of the trip takes them by train to Norway’s UNESCO heritage-protected fjord region aboard both the Oslo-Bergen and Flam Railways for a stay at eco-lodge 29|2 Aurland. This is followed by a cruise through Sognefjorden, a stop in Bergen, a visit to the Island Kingdom of Austevoll and more. The journey ends back in Copenhagen, but it can be extended for an optional third week in the Arctic Circle.
