Universal Destinations & Experiences has officially opened Universal Kids Resort, its first theme park created specifically for children ages 3 to 8.
The new attraction in Frisco welcomed its first guests with a grand opening celebration emceed by Laila Lockhart Kraner. The celebration showcased several of the park’s themed lands, including experiences inspired by Gabby’s Dollhouse, Shrek, Trolls, Puss in Boots, Minions, SpongeBob SquarePants and Jurassic World.
A confetti-filled countdown, daytime pyrotechnics and a ribbon-cutting ceremony marked the park’s official opening.
“Today’s an exciting day for all kidkind as we officially open Universal Kids Resort,” said Page Thompson, President, New Ventures, Universal Destinations & Experiences, in a media statement. “Every aspect of this park was designed with kids in mind, and it’s amazing to see the smiles on their faces as they enjoy all that Universal Kids Resort has to offer.”
Seven Themed Lands at Universal Kids Resort
Three years in development, Universal Kids Resort features seven immersive areas designed around popular entertainment brands: Shrek’s Swamp, Jurassic World Adventure Camp, SpongeBob SquarePants’ Bikini Bottom, Minions vs. Minions: Bello Bay Club, TrollsFest, Puss in Boots Del Mar and the Isle of Curiosity, home to Gabby’s Dollhouse.
Adjacent to the park is the 300-room Universal Kids Resort Hotel, offering family-focused accommodations, multiple room configurations for up to six guests, themed amenities and dining options designed for families.
Tickets and Group Experiences Available
Universal Kids Resort is now selling one- and two-day admission tickets, along with vacation packages and premium experiences. Guests can also book a four-hour Private VIP Experience that includes priority access to attractions and reserved entertainment seating, or purchase the Troll-ify Me! Experience, an interactive makeover inspired by characters from the Trolls franchise.
The destination also offers customizable group programs, including birthday party packages, expanding its appeal to families and group travel planners alike.
