JetBlue Launches Flights to Florida from New York and Boston

JetBlue has officially launched new service to Destin–Fort Walton Beach Airport from the Northeast, marking an expansion for the airline’s Florida network.

JetBlue celebrated the inaugural flight that started today from John F. Kennedy International Airport, with additional nonstop service launching from Boston Logan International Airport. The new routes provide travelers with direct access between the Florida Panhandle and two of the Northeast’s largest travel hubs.

“Today’s first flight from New York marks an exciting new chapter for the Emerald Coast,” said Dave Jehn, JetBlue’s Vice President, Network Planning and Airline Partnerships, in a press statement. “With nonstop access to both JFK and Boston, we’re making it easier than ever for customers to travel between the Northeast and one of Florida’s most sought-after beach destinations, while also giving residents convenient connections to JetBlue’s broader network.”

From the Northeast to the Sunshine State

The new services from JFK and Boston to Destin–Fort Walton Beach operate on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. The launch also represents a milestone for Destin and the local tourism industry.

“This is an incredible addition to our passenger service at Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport,” said Okaloosa County Board Chairman Trey Goodwin, in a press statement. “The success of our airport relies on the success of our partners and we are excited to welcome JetBlue to the VPS family.”

Spring Break Capacity

To meet peak demand, JetBlue will operate two daily nonstop flights between Boston and Destin–Fort Walton Beach on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from April 17 through April 26, increasing capacity during the Spring Break travel window. The new service to Destin represents JetBlue’s 11th Florida destination.
