Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) is adding new wellness and dining concepts to Norwegian Aura, the line’s newest and largest ship, which is scheduled to debut in May 2027.
“Norwegian Aura is all about giving guests more of what they love, with spaces and experiences that make vacation feel even easier,” said Marc Kazlauskas, President of NCL, in a press statement.
New Wellness Experiences
The two-deck Mandara Spa will feature an expanded Thermal Suite with 15 wellness experiences, including 11 new offerings built around contrast therapy. The space will include hot and cold plunge experiences, a Snow Cave, Sensory Rain Pool, Reflection Pool, Finnish and charcoal saunas, an aromatic steam room, meditation lounge and relaxation areas.
The spa will also feature 24 treatment rooms, a full-service salon, Skin Lab, expanded medi-spa services and a new fitness center with dedicated training studios and wellness programming.
New Indian Restaurant
Tamara, debuting on Deck 8, will be NCL’s first specialty restaurant dedicated to Indian cuisine. The concept builds on the popularity of Indian dishes introduced at Indulge Food Hall and will feature regional dishes in a setting inspired by North Indian architecture and courtyards.
The ship will also introduce The Panorama Room, a reimagined complimentary dining venue on Deck 6 featuring LED displays, synchronized lighting, multi-channel audio and changing visuals designed to create an immersive dining environment.
NCL’s signature main dining venue, Hudson’s, will receive a new design, while restaurants including Le Bistro, Sukhothai, Palomar, Onda by Scarpetta, Cagney’s Steakhouse, Hasuki and Nama will receive refreshed interiors and, in some cases, expanded seating.
Updated Public Spaces
Norwegian Aura will also feature refreshed bars and lounges throughout the ship. Penrose Bar & Atrium will have more than double its previous seating along with a dedicated entertainment stage, while Metropolitan Bar, Swirl Wine Bar, Belvedere Bar, Whiskey Bar and Daybreak Bar will receive updated designs.
The ship will also introduce Ocean Heights, a family-focused activity area featuring six slides, an 82-foot ropes course, a multi-level obstacle course, mini golf and other attractions. New overhanging cabanas will overlook Vibe Beach Club.
Ship Itineraries
Norwegian Aura will begin sailing in Europe with a 7-day Mediterranean voyage from Trieste, Italy to Barcelona, Spain, on May 21, 2027, followed by a 13-day transatlantic voyage to Miami.
During summer 2027 and summer 2028, the ship will sail 7-day Eastern Caribbean itineraries, with calls including Puerto Plata, St. Thomas, Tortola and Great Stirrup Cay. In Winter 2027 and 2028, the ship will feature 7-day Western Caribbean cruises visiting destinations including Roatan, Costa Maya, Cozumel and Harvest Caye.
