From immersive dining offerings to expedition-style shore programs and multi-day land extensions, cruise lines are continuing to broaden what a voyage at sea can deliver. Recent announcements from Royal Caribbean, Seabourn and Regent Seven Seas highlight how brands are layering culinary innovation, deeper destination immersion and customizable land experiences into their core cruise products.
Legend of the Seas to Debut with 28 Dining Venues
When Royal Caribbean’s Legend of the Seas launches in July, the new Icon Class ship will introduce 28 dining venues — the largest culinary lineup in the fleet.
Among the headliners is Royal Railway – Legend Station, making its Icon Class debut after first launching on Utopia of the Seas. The immersive, multi-sensory dining concept blends technology and live entertainment with a five-course menu inspired by Marco Polo’s travels along the Silk Road, with dishes representing China, Turkey, India, Persia and Italy.
Also new is Hollywoodland Supper Club, a cinematic-themed venue inspired by Hollywood’s golden age. The multi-course experience traces film’s evolution from black-and-white to Technicolor, pairing jazz-era ambiance with dishes designed to mirror each era.
Returning concepts include AquaDome Market, the brand’s food hall featuring six stands — five of them new — ranging from Cajun and Mexican fare to Spanish tapas and Korean cuisine, alongside fresh juices and French crepes.
Fleet favorites such as Chops Grille, Hooked Seafood and Surfside Eatery will also be onboard. Legend of the Seas will debut with 7-night Western Mediterranean sailings from Barcelona and Rome before repositioning to Fort Lauderdale in November for 6- and 8-night Caribbean itineraries, including visits to Perfect Day at CocoCay.

Seabourn Adds Expedition Team on Seabourn Encore
Seabourn will expand its expedition-style programming in Alaska this summer, deploying a dedicated Expedition Team aboard Seabourn Encore during the ship’s maiden Alaska season.
Operating May through September between Vancouver, British Columbia and Juneau, Alaska, the vessel will feature a team of naturalists, scientists and regional experts delivering enhanced “Ventures by Seabourn” programming. The offering includes guided hiking, kayaking and Zodiac excursions, along with onboard enrichment through the line’s Seabourn Conversations series.
Itineraries will call at marquee destinations such as Hubbard Glacier, Tracy Arm/Endicott Arm, the Inian Islands, Rudyerd Bay in Misty Fjords and Alert Bay. Sailings include a 15-day Alaska Fjords, Canadian Inside Passage & Glacier Bay voyage and a 7-day Glaciers & Alaska Inside Passage itinerary.
The Expedition Team will be led by Sean Bercaw, a veteran mariner and former U.S. Naval officer, alongside geologist Brian Mahoney and assistant expedition leader Chris Clarke. A dedicated kayak team and a roster of lecturers specializing in geology, marine biology, botany, wildlife conservation and climate science will support programming throughout the season.
According to Seabourn, the initiative is designed to blend the line’s luxury product with deeper destination immersion, positioning Seabourn Encore’s Alaska deployment as a hybrid of traditional luxury cruising and expedition-style exploration.
