All-Female Antarctic Expedition: Made for Wild Women

In celebration of International Women’s Day, Wild Women Expeditions, in partnership with Aurora Expeditions, is offering an unforgettable journey for females, the Antarctic Women’s Expedition: Fly the Drake.

Departing on Feb. 23, 2027, this exclusive 10-day voyage is designed by women for women and promises an immersive exploration of Antarctica, focusing on wildlife, conservation and the invaluable contributions of women in science and sustainability.

A Journey to Remember

“We couldn’t be more proud or excited to be part of this historic expedition,” said Jennifer Haddow, CEO of Wild Women Expeditions, in a press statement. “This trip marks a significant moment in history, proving that women have long played a vital role in exploration, advocacy and environmental stewardship. It embodies everything Wild Women Expeditions stands for—curiosity, collaboration and community.”

The adventure begins in Punta Arenas, Chile, where participants will board a charter flight to King George Island, bypassing the challenging Drake Passage crossing. From there, travelers will embark on the Sylvia Earle, a state-of-the-art, carbon-neutral vessel named after the renowned marine biologist and ocean advocate.

Throughout the expedition, guests will witness Antarctica’s breathtaking landscapes and wildlife—penguin chicks molting into adulthood, whales preparing for migration and leopard seals on the hunt—while participating in curated programing highlighting the role of women in conservation.

The Sylvia Earle pays tribute to Dr. Earle and six other pioneering women in science, with public decks dedicated to their groundbreaking work. With only 130 passengers, this intimate expedition offers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to explore the icy frontier with like-minded women passionate about adventure and environmental stewardship.
