Air France’s Phoenix-Paris route is set to expand significantly, offering travel advisors more options for their desert-dwelling clients. Following a successful inaugural year, the airline will increase its service between Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport and Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport to five times weekly starting May 2025.
“Within one year since the launch of their Paris service, Air France will have almost doubled the capacity on the Phoenix-Paris route. The airline has been a fantastic addition to our airport, and we are grateful for their confidence and investment in our market,” said City of Phoenix Aviation Director Chad Makovsky, in a press statement. “This increase means our passengers will have more options and competitive fares to not only fly to France but to the other 190 destinations that Air France serves beyond Paris.”
A Popular Route for Air France
The nonstop service, which began on May 23, 2024, initially operated three times a week and was the first direct connection between Phoenix and France. The route’s popularity prompted Air France to upgrade from the original 279-seat Boeing 787-900 Dreamliner to a larger 328-seat Boeing 777-200 for the winter season.
On May 5, 2025, the service will transition to an Airbus A350-900, featuring an enhanced business class section with 34 seats and a total capacity of 324 passengers. The new schedule will depart Paris at 10:45 a.m., touching down in Phoenix at 12:50 p.m. The return leg will leave Phoenix at 3:05 p.m., arriving in Paris at 10:10 a.m. the following day.
“Air France is very pleased with the Phoenix-Paris route and we are excited to increase the frequency,” said Boaz Hulsman, Vice President of Commercial, North America at Air France-KLM, in a press statement. “This capacity increase symbolizes our commitment to enhancing the transatlantic travel connection. We look forward to soon providing more passengers from Phoenix with an experience embodying the best of French elegance.”
The A350-900 will offer a three-class configuration: 34 Business seats, 24 Premium Economy seats and 266 Economy seats. This upgrade allows travel advisors to more easily accommodate diverse client preferences and budgets.
Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport now connects to over 140 destinations domestically and internationally. The expanded Air France service complements existing transatlantic routes, including American Airlines and British Airways flights to London Heathrow and Condor Airlines’ service to Frankfurt.
Thanks to Air France’s codeshare agreement, clients can now easily link up with Delta flights within the U.S. Additionally, the service facilitates smooth connections to European and global destinations through Air France’s partnership with KLM.
