Riviera Travel has expanded its fleet with the addition of Riviera Radiance, a new five-star river cruise ship that recently completed its maiden voyage along the Danube River. The 178-passenger vessel represents the next generation of the company’s river cruise offerings, featuring a split-level design that creates more spacious public areas.
“The launch of Riviera Radiance represents an exciting step forward for Riviera Travel as we continue to evolve our river cruise offerings,” said Stuart Milan, president of North America for Riviera Travel, in a press statement. “With our most spacious suites to-date and the introduction of a third dining venue onboard—something our guests have been asking for – Riviera Radiance is setting a new standard for comfort and choice on Europe’s waterways.”
Riviera Radiance Kicks it Up a Notch—or Two
The ship introduces several firsts for the brand, which has specialized in premium global travel experiences for more than 40 years. Riviera Radiance is the company’s first vessel to offer three separate dining venues. The new Mosaic restaurant on the Emerald Deck presents tapas-style cuisine in an intimate setting. Guests can also dine in the main restaurant on the Ruby Deck or enjoy the Bistro on the Diamond Deck, which features an open kitchen, panoramic views and outdoor seating options.
Accommodations on the Riviera Radiance set new standards for the brand, featuring 89 cabins spread across three decks. The ship’s Grand Suites measure 344 sq. ft.—the largest in the company’s river fleet—and include a separate living area, king-size bed and private balcony. Superior Suites offer 258 sq. ft. of space with floor-to-ceiling French balconies, while standard cabins provide 172 sq. ft. Over 80 percent of all accommodations feature French balconies.
The vessel’s contemporary design features a 2-story lounge and main restaurant. Riviera Radiance will offer seven distinct itineraries on the Danube River, ranging from classic routes to specialized departures that focus on culinary experiences, festive seasonal sailings and dedicated solo traveler journeys.
