“We’ve created a sanctuary that redefines the essence of island life, a place to reconnect – with nature, with loved ones and with yourself,” said Senior Vice President of HHM Hotels Douglas Wilkins in a press statement. “We are excited to welcome our guests and community to the new era of Islander Resort. The resort is a long beloved gem in the Upper Keys and our reimagined offerings invite everyone to slow down and let the Keys inspire you.”

The redesigned oceanside bungalows (averaging 350 sq. ft.) blend tropical ease with modern sophistication, using soft pastel hues and natural textures. Their remodeled private patios (about 300 sq. ft.) provide the perfect outdoor retreat. For clients seeking extra luxury, recommend one of the 12 new Cabana Poolside Rooms, which have dedicated poolside cabanas and food service. The 14 oceanside suites, up to 1,070 sq. ft., offer home-like comforts, with full kitchens and expansive living areas.

The remodeled Bayside Villas are ideal for extended stays or family getaways. These 2-bedroom townhomes (1,042 to 1,092 sq. ft.) feature gourmet kitchens, private decks and access to all resort amenities, including boat slips.

Islander Resort has the largest beachfront in Islamorada, now enhanced with locally crafted palapas, sun huts and plush loungers. Firelight Cove is where guests can share stories and toast s’mores under the moonlight, while active clients will appreciate the two-acre Seaside Sports area, featuring a 9-hole putting course, kayaking, paddle boarding and courts for pickleball, basketball, volleyball and bocce ball.

The culinary scene at Islander Resort has also been completely revamped, with five different dining experiences. Drift on the Beach offers refined coastal cuisine, while Tides Beachside Bar serves up Florida-inspired fare and tropical cocktails. Oceanfront Coccoloba dishes out fresh seafood tacos and lobster rolls, and the new Sandy’s provides beachside libations.
