Windstar Cruises is giving travelers new ways to experience Europe in 2027 with after-hours access to some of the region’s most iconic landmarks.
The cruise line is expanding its complimentary Destination Discovery Events to seven experiences across seven destinations next year, with new events planned in Livorno, Dubrovnik and London. The program will coincide with the European debut of Star Explorer, Windstar’s new 224-guest all-suite yacht.
Destination Discovery Events are complimentary evening experiences available to guests sailing on eligible itineraries, with a focus on private access, local culture and smaller-scale experiences.
After-Hours Access in Europe
In Livorno, travelers can enjoy a private evening at the historic Fortezza Vecchia, a 16th-century Medici fortress, with Tuscan-inspired cocktails, canapes, live music and local guides.
In Dubrovnik, the experience begins inside a 15th-century Dominican cloister with sparkling wine and traditional klapa singers before guests experience Croatian music and dance.
In London, guests on three select 2027 sailings will visit the Tower of London after public hours. The experience includes private viewing of the Crown Jewels, access to portions of the White Tower and Battlements, and stories from Yeoman Warders, followed by a British-inspired reception.
Meet Star Explorer
The new experiences arrive as Windstar prepares to introduce Star Explorer to Europe. The 112-suite yacht will carry 224 guests, allowing it to access smaller ports and waterways that larger ships cannot.
The yacht’s European itineraries will include the Mediterranean, Northern Europe, the British Isles, Ireland, Norway, Scotland and the Baltic. Star Explorer will also sail European river routes, including voyages designed to bring guests closer to destinations such as Venice and London.
Star Explorer begins its inaugural year with a Dec. 28, 2026, sailing from Barcelona. Its first full European season will continue through 2027, including Mediterranean voyages in spring and fall and Northern European sailings during the summer.
