The Caribbean island of Nevis is entering 2026 with a series of developments that combine historic preservation, resort enhancements and signature events—positioning the destination within the broader context of the upcoming U.S. Semiquincentennial.

A Caribbean Link to America250

Best known as the birthplace of Alexander Hamilton, Nevis holds a rare international link to the United States’ 250th anniversary. That connection is gaining renewed relevance as American travelers increasingly seek destinations tied to the nation’s founding story. Visitors can explore Hamilton’s legacy at the Hamilton House & Museum in Charlestown, one of the island’s most visited historic sites.

Bath Hotel Restoration Reinforces Historic Legacy

Central to Nevis’ heritage focus is the ongoing restoration of the historic Bath Hotel, widely regarded as the first hotel in the British Caribbean. Built more than 200 years ago around the island’s natural hot springs, the property is undergoing a multi-year conservation effort supported by a $403,000 grant from the U.S. Ambassador’s Fund for Cultural Preservation.

Phase two of the stabilization project was completed in January through a partnership between the Nevis Historical and Conservation Society and the Nevis Island Administration. The restoration reinforces the island’s longstanding ties to early Caribbean tourism and wellness travel.

Four Seasons Resort Nevis Marks 35 Years

Nevis’ resort sector is also marking significant milestones. Four Seasons Resort Nevis celebrated its 35th anniversary this month. The 350-acre property, located between Nevis Peak and Pinney’s Beach, was the brand’s first Caribbean resort when it opened. To coincide with the anniversary, the resort introduced new family-focused spring programming, including a Kids Tennis Camp running from March 16 through April 10.
