“Pasta is at the heart of Italian food culture, and at Costa, it’s something we take great pride in bringing to life on board,” said Priscilla Reyes, Head of Sales for Costa Cruises North America, in a press statement. “It’s a familiar part of everyday life in Italy, yet there are endless ways to enjoy it. We want our guests to discover that same sense of joy at the table, whether they choose a dish they know and love or try something completely new.”

Costa Cruises’ Executive Chef Antonio Brizzi.

Dishes Inspired From Italy’s Regions

The menus draw inspiration from Italy’s regional culinary traditions, with dishes that incorporate seafood, fresh herbs, pesto, stuffed pasta and classic sauces. Highlights include spaghettone with green pea carbonara and mortadella; penne with arugula pesto and buffalo mozzarella, featuring mozzarella produced fresh on board; pumpkin tortelli with basil pesto, shrimp ragout and toasted pine nuts; and Sardinian gnocchetti with sausage sauce, broccoli and chili.

The variety extends across pasta shapes and preparations, including more than 20 filled-pasta dishes, 15 lasagna preparations, eight cannelloni dishes and 10 dishes featuring pesto. Seafood and fish also feature prominently, with at least 32 seafood-focused pasta dishes represented on the menus.

On a 7-day cruise, guests have opportunities to sample different pasta dishes, offering plenty of variety throughout the voyage. Gluten-free pasta options are also available daily for guests with special dietary needs.
