Travel Leaders Group and American Express have partnered up to bring you a unique and valuable benefit program, offering exclusive travel offers for Gold Card members in the U.S. and opportunities for Travel Leaders Group agents to expand their client network.
As part of the new program, Travel Leaders Group is introducing The Travel Collection by Travel Leaders Group, a special benefit program for Gold Card members. This new program will allow U.S. Consumer Gold and Business Gold Card members the opportunity to access The Travel Collection by calling a Travel Leaders Group travel agent. Bookings can only be made through a Travel Leaders Group agent.
The Travel Collection will feature exclusive offers including discounts on international and domestic flights, value-added benefits at select lodging properties, shipboard credits on cruises, and discounts on escorted and vacation packages.
This program is “open to all agents within the Travel Leaders Group within U.S. There is no cost for them to participate, but they do have to go through eight to nine hours of training first,” said Ninan Chacko, CTC for Travel Leaders Group.
He added that, it’s also attractive to suppliers because it gives them access to an attractive demographic.
“Clients can pay with points, and bookings are commissionable,” added Chacko. “Another perk for agents is that they’ll be matched with a Gold Card Member, which will expand their network. Access to [these] discounts is only available in this program.”
If you’re wondering when you can start using this new program, American Express will announcing this to their Gold Card Members in the third or fourth quarter of this year, according to Chacko.
However, for those clients who are already Gold Card Members with American Express, you can already use this new collection and book these trips; as long as you’ve gone through the training.
“Training started about a month ago,” said Chacko. Travel Leaders has offered small groups sessions, and some training will be done during the EDGE Conference to get agents exposed to program. However, the education program is live through Travel Leaders. Currently 240 agents have been trained and 460 agents are currently enrolled in the training program.
“Commission rates will be unique to this program, but will be competitive by suppliers for new customers with a different commission structure in place,” said Chacko. However, those have not yet been finalized.
In addition, Travel Leaders Group will provide pre-written e-mails, as well as banners you can use to post on social media and on website.
Travel Leaders Group travel agents will have the opportunity to book select American Express travel services and redeem Membership Rewards points on behalf of their clients, which will expand the opportunities for Card Members to redeem their Membership Rewards points. And, if you have clients who are not Gold Card members, Travel Leader Group agents can help them apply directly with American Express to take advantage of the Travel Collection benefits and Membership Rewards, which will get you an extra bonus if they get approved. “If you don’t have a gold card you can pay $295 a year to have access to travel collection,” said Chacko.
