It’s easier than ever to fly clients to experience the beauty of Grenada with new flights and increased frequencies on top carriers.
Carrier JetBlue is set to begin new non-stop service on Nov. 4, 2023, departing from Boston Logan International Airport (OBS) at 8:00 a.m. and arriving in Grenada’s Maurice Bishop International Airport (GND) at 1:43 p.m. The weekly flight will operate on Saturdays year-round aboard a premium 159-seat A321 MINT aircraft with 16 lie-flat seats.
The new flight joins JetBlue’s daily service from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK). The airline also bolstered this service to Grenada by increasing the capacity of its regular daily service for the summer period, from June 15 through Sept. 5. And, coinciding with Spicemas, coming up on the calendar in August, JetBlue is increasing its service to a second daily nonstop flight from JFK (seasonally from August 7 through September 1) aboard a 162-seat A320.
“This uptick in service from JetBlue ladders up to our on-going efforts to improve the destination’s offerings to attract more visitors to experience why we are truly the spice isle of the Caribbean,” said Petra Roach, CEO of the Grenada Tourism Authority. “We’ve been hard at work, not only bringing on board new events and experiences but diligently working with travel advisors, keeping them in the know, as well as improving the quality-of-service visitors can expect once they arrive. Our numbers from the U.S. continue to move in the right direction and this commitment is a testament to JetBlue’s belief in what we’re developing. This is the first time that JetBlue has introduced a destination with Mint year-round, so we could not be more honored for the trust they have invested in our beautiful tri-island state.”
Grenada Prepares to Welcome Canadian Travelers
The Spice Island is preparing to create some fun in the sun for Canadians as Air Canada prepares to resume its service on Oct. 29, 2023, and with double the previous capacity. Starting in the fall, the carrier will fly travelers to Grenada on four weekly flights from Toronto Pearson International (YYZ) to Maurice Bishop International Airport (GND).
The Air Canada flights will operate Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, departing at 9:30 a.m. from YYZ and arriving at GND at 3:55 p.m. The return flight departs at 4:55 p.m. and arrives back in Toronto at 9:55 p.m.
“Canada is an extremely important market for Grenada and traditionally has been our fourth largest source market behind USA, UK and the Caribbean. We will be frontloading a very aggressive campaign to ensure that we capitalize on this doubling of seat capacity,” says Petra Roach, CEO of the Grenada Tourism Authority. “The equipment being utilized is the Boeing 737 Max 8 with 16 business class seats and 153 economy seats. Travelers can look forward to major events like Grenada Rugby World 7s taking place from Nov. 30 – Dec. 2 and Carriacou Parang Festival from Dec. 15-17, to name a few. Grenada will also welcome two new luxury hotels to the island in Q4 2023 – Beach House and Six Senses.”
