Viva Aerobus Joins JFK’s New Terminal One, Boosting Latin America Connectivity

The New Terminal One at JFK International Airport has added its first Latin American carrier, with Viva Aerobus confirming service from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport to Mexico City and Monterrey. The airline will operate nonstop flights as part of the terminal’s expanding international network.

Building a New International Gateway for New York

The New Terminal One is a central component of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey’s $19 billion redevelopment program at JFK, which includes new terminals, modernization of existing facilities, a redesigned roadway system and an expanded ground transportation center.

Scheduled to open in phases beginning in 2026, the New Terminal One will initially launch with new arrivals and departures halls and 14 gates. Once fully completed, the terminal will span 2.6 million square feet and include 23 gates, making it the largest terminal at JFK.

Viva Aerobus joins a growing airline roster at the terminal that already includes carriers such as Air France, KLM, Korean Air, Turkish Airlines, Qatar Airways, Air China, Ethiopian Airlines and more.

Once complete, the New Terminal One will serve as a key international gateway at JFK, supporting increased capacity and expanded connectivity across Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Latin America.
