Silversea has unveiled information on its World Cruise 2029, A Pacific Awakening, sailing from San Diego on Jan. 5, 2029. The 125‑day journey will take guests to more than 60 destinations in 19 countries on the Silver Whisper.
“The depth and variety of experiences around which we have designed our World Cruise 2029, A Pacific Awakening, is what makes it such a special journey,” said Bert Hernandez, President, Silversea, in a media statement. “With 17 overnights, new ports of call and dozens of immersive experiences across the Pacific, our guests will enjoy iconic destinations alongside smaller, rarely visited ports.”
Rare Island Destinations Across the Pacific
Throughout the voyage, guests visit remote and lesser-known destinations that highlight the diversity of the Pacific region. Stops include Kalanggaman Island, known for its long white sandbar and marine ecosystem, and Motu Tapu, a sacred islet tied to ancestral Polynesian heritage.
The itinerary also includes additional calls in the Philippines, including Bohol and Romblon Island, where guests encounter limestone landscapes, endemic wildlife and island communities rooted in artisanal traditions. Cultural highlights extend to Vigan, a UNESCO World Heritage Site recognized for its preserved Spanish colonial architecture and historic urban layout.
Silversea World Cruises incorporates curated destination events designed to reflect regional culture and enhance guest immersion. The 2029 sailing includes a Bon Voyage event in San Diego and a series of destination experiences aligned with the theme From Kingdoms to Dynasties.
For example, in Honolulu, guests attend A Night at the Palace at Iolani Palace, the only official royal residence in the U.S., offering insight into the Hawaiian monarchy and cultural heritage. While in Tasmania, guests gain exclusive access to Theatre Royal Hobart for a private performance featuring the 47-piece Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, highlighting the region’s artistic legacy.
