This week is the 122nd anniversary of Walt Disney’s birth, and to mark the occasion, there’s a new statue of the man himself at EPCOT Theme Park. Titled “Walt the Dreamer,” the statue shows Disney in his later years sitting on a bench, smiling and looking out at his dream come true: the Florida Project and the Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow.

Disney’s Newest Statue Welcomes Every Dreamer

The statue is placed at Dreamers Point in the new World Celebration neighborhood, which overlooks the World Celebration Gardens. According to the press statement, Walt “sits with a sense of fulfillment and joy, enjoying the beauty of his realized dream: a park that represents pure optimism and truly celebrates the magic of possibility.”

This great photo op is just one of the many places in the World Celebration Gardens where visitors to Disney’s EPCOT can relax and reconnect with their friends, family and nature. The different gardens, including Dreamers Point, draw on the architectural legacy of the park and include modern lighting and a variety of natural textures.

EPCOT and other Disney parks are still celebrating Disney100 through Dec. 31, 2023, with special events, activities and features, including a giant mural of 100 Disney Characters along the walkway to World Showcase, festive banners and celebration decorations throughout the park and a special nightly Disney100-themed display at Spaceship Earth, where this iconic attraction lights up with a kaleidoscope of colors that dance to a special rendition of the classic When You Wish Upon a Star.

Remind clients they’ll still have the opportunity this month to strike a pose for their Disney PhotoPass in front of the Disney100 Photo Op in World Celebration, just before they get to the bridge to World Showcase.
