Inaugural Flights in the Caribbean
Ultra-low-fare carrier Frontier Airlines has re-established its presence in Antigua and Barbuda with a new weekly nonstop service. The inaugural flight from Luis Muñoz MarÃn International Airport in San Juan, Puerto Rico (SJU) to V.C. Bird International Airport (ANU) in Antigua took off on Feb. 15, 2025. This route connects the two Caribbean destinations and offers travelers convenient links to Frontier’s network across the Caribbean and continental United States.
The launch was marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony at V.C. Bird International Airport, attended by key figures from both the airline and Antigua and Barbuda’s tourism sector. Notable attendees included Antigua and Barbuda’s Tourism Minister, The Honourable Charles Fernandez, and Colin C. James, CEO of the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority. Representing Frontier Airlines was Paola Torres, the Regional Manager, accompanied by the flight’s captain and crew.

Air France is set to boost its Phoenix-Paris service to five weekly flights starting May 2025, marking a significant expansion just one year after the route’s launch. The airline will upgrade to an Airbus A350-900, offering 324 seats in a three-class configuration: 34 in Business, 24 in Premium Economy and 266 in Economy.
Effective May 5, 2025, the new schedule will see flights departing Paris at 10:45 a.m. and arriving in Phoenix at 12:50 p.m. The return flight will leave Phoenix at 3:05 p.m. and reach Paris the next day at 10:10 a.m. This frequency and aircraft capacity increase is expected to generate an estimated $103 million annual economic impact for Arizona, up from the initial $70 million projection.
Meanwhile, American Airlines is set to resume its non-stop service between Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport and London Heathrow Airport from March 29, 2025. This reintroduction strengthens Phoenix’s international connectivity, complementing existing transatlantic routes operated by British Airways and Condor Airlines to London and Frankfurt, respectively.
