Delta Air Lines is ready to resume its daily nonstop service between New York-JFK and Tel Aviv (TLV) starting April 1. This route will utilize the Airbus A330-900neo, offering nearly 2,000 weekly seats for your clients.
Delta: Safety First.
The decision to restart operations follows a thorough security assessment conducted in collaboration with government and private-sector partners. Delta has implemented additional safety measures for its Tel Aviv flights, prioritizing the well-being of passengers and crew members.
Delta had entered a codeshare agreement with EL AL Israel Airlines to expand its presence in Israel, effective Jan. 1, 2024. This partnership created new connection opportunities for travelers between the Americas and Tel Aviv. Your clients can also earn and redeem SkyMiles or Matmid points across both carriers, enhancing the value proposition for frequent flyers.
The codeshare agreement allows Delta customers to access EL AL’s nonstop services to Tel Aviv from several U.S. cities, including New York-JFK, New York-Newark, Boston, Los Angeles, Miami and Fort Lauderdale. Conversely, EL AL’s code will be added to Delta’s non-stop Tel Aviv flights once restored and up to 280 same-day connections via Delta’s U.S. gateways in New York-JFK, Boston and Los Angeles. This network expansion reaches destinations such as Atlanta, Washington DC, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Seattle, Dallas and Toronto.
Delta’s Airbus A330-900neo features 29 Delta One Suites, 28 Delta Premium Select seats, 56 Delta Comfort+ seats and 168 Economy seats, accommodating 281 passengers total. The plane incorporates Airbus’ Airspace cabin philosophy, providing enhanced passenger comfort with features like increased personal space, improved luggage stowage, and the latest in-flight entertainment systems.
ETA-IL Visa Requirement
Israel officially launched its digital travel authorization system, ETA-IL, on Jan. 1, 2025, modernizing the entry process for travelers from visa-exempt countries, including the United States. This new system requires eligible travelers to apply through an online portal at least 72 hours before their intended arrival in Israel for stays of up to 90 days for business or tourism. The processing fee is 25 Israeli Shekels (approximately $7 USD), and once approved, the authorization remains valid for up to two years or until passport expiration, whichever comes first.
Most applicants receive an “immediate” response via email, though some may require up to 72 hours for processing. To apply, travelers must provide passport details, a valid email address, and payment information. It’s important to note that Israeli citizens, those with an Israeli identity number, and current visa holders are exempt from the ETA-IL requirement. Airlines must verify ETA-IL approval before allowing passengers to board flights to Israel.
