Aurora Expeditions has announced its Small Ship Cruises for the 2027 season, now available for booking. This season features 21 unique voyages across 22 countries, exploring diverse regions such as the Mediterranean, Adriatic, Atlantic and African coasts, as well as Central America—including Costa Rica and Panama—and the historical landscapes of Northern Europe, along with the UK and Ireland. The journeys range from nine to seventeen days aboard three purpose-built small ships: Greg Mortimer, Sylvia Earle, and the upcoming Douglas Mawson. These vessels are designed to access ports that larger ships cannot reach.
“Our new season goes beyond cruising—it’s storytelling at sea,” said Katie Malone, CMO, Aurora Expeditions, in a press statement. “Whether it’s a wine tasting in Bordeaux, tracing Viking sagas in Scandinavia, standing on the battlegrounds of Culloden, or visiting Prince Albert’s private car garage in Monaco, every voyage connects travelers to history, culture and community in a way that only small ships can.”
Immerse Clients in Aurora Expeditions’ Unforgettable Stories
Each Aurora Expeditions’ cruise is enhanced by Master Storytellers—experts in history, genealogy, art and culture—who engage your clients through insightful presentations in a relaxed onboard environment. Pre- and post-voyage city stays simplify travel logistics, and enriching experiences elevate each journey.
Travelers can choose from immersive Your Choice excursions tailored to their interests. Enrichment programs include wine tastings and cultural immersions at various destinations. Highlights include UNESCO World Heritage sites, such as Dubrovnik’s medieval walls, alongside lesser-known locales like Alberobello’s Trulli houses and Istria’s olive groves.
New itineraries feature A Mediterranean Feast (Valletta to Barcelona), focusing on culinary discoveries through local markets and family-run vineyards. La Dolce Vita (Nice to Rome) offers a romantic coastal journey with exclusive access to Monaco’s Prince Albert’s private car collection. Travelers can explore Adriatic gems on the Treasures of the Adriatic (Valletta to Zagreb) itinerary, which connects Malta’s history with Croatia’s medieval towns. Costa Rica & Panama: Crossing the Canal combines tropical ecosystems with a transit through the Panama Canal’s engineering marvels, while Europe’s Engineering Icons (Amsterdam to Copenhagen) highlights landmarks like Amsterdam’s canal networks alongside Denmark’s urban innovations.
Small ship cruises offer distinct advantages such as docking at smaller ports inaccessible by larger vessels, locally guided excursions that reveal authentic experiences of each destination and an average of just 130 passengers per ship.
Of note: Exclusive offers include savings up to 25 percent on select voyages, along with ten dedicated solo staterooms available without single supplements.
