Travel to Queensland Gets a Boost with New Campaign

Tourism and Events Queensland and Avanti Destinations have launched a joint campaign to educate advisors and their clients about independent travel to “the Sunshine State” in northeastern Australia.

Focusing on the themes of nature, family travel and Aboriginal culture, the campaign consists of a 34-page downloadable, shareable e-brochure, Queensland: The Sunshine State Awaits, available on Avanti’s travel advisor portal.

The joint campaign also features a dedicated site for advisors, available here; advisors can also access two separate webinars here and here.

“Queensland—particularly the Tropical North region centered on Cairns or Port Douglas—is our best-selling destination in Australia,” said Paul Barry, CEO of Avanti Destinations, in a media statement. “It is an area full of superlatives: the world’s largest coral reef [the Great Barrier Reef], the oldest tropical rainforest [Daintree], the oldest continuous culture [Aboriginal], as well as white sand beaches, turquoise waters, excellent surfing, charming towns, sailing, snorkeling, hiking and Australia’s greenest city, Brisbane.

“Queensland, in the northeast quadrant of the country, is also closest to the US geographically, and there are non-stop flights to its capital, Brisbane, from several US gateways,” added Barry.

Create Customized Vacations

You can create customized itineraries of Queensland for clients interested in nature travel, family travel and Australia’s indigenous culture, the Aboriginals and Torres Strait Islander people. Advisors can speak to an Avanti destination specialist or connect online using either Avanti’s new InstaQuote tool or the advisor website

Avanti offers a total of 62 three-, four-, and five-star hotels and 78 tours and experiences in Queensland that advisors can select from. A suggested seven-day custom itinerary would include two nights in Queensland’s capital, Brisbane, two nights in Hamilton Island in the Whitsundays and three nights in Cairns or Port Douglas.

Advisors can also add nights in the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast regions, known for surfing, national parks (including Scenic Rim and Noosa Everglades), UNESCO World Heritage Sites, dining, shopping and hiking the Glasshouse Mountains.

For those using the InstaQuote tool, once an advisor enters the cities and number of nights, the itinerary will automatically populate with suggested tours and transfers (including internal flights in Australia).

Modifications are made on the advisor portal. Advisors can change the length of their stay in each location, and add or subtract destinations, tours, and transfers.
