The new year is almost upon us, and super-chill Belize, one of the most popular destinations in Central America, with its sun-swept beaches, tropical forest-draped Mayan sites, and islands whose shorelines lap away the chaos of modern times, is the perfect antidote for today’s high-stressed environment. Alaia Resort, Autograph Collection: Scheduled to open December 2020, Alaia Resort will be the first Marriott-branded property to open in the country and will operate as the first true four-diamond beachfront resort on Ambergris Caye. The boutique hotel features 35 hotel units, 56 two-bedroom units and eight oceanfront villas. A spa and fitness center, pool, rooftop pool, multiple eateries, wedding venue and beach club will also be included within the site.

Belize Marriott Ambergris Caye Resort & Residences: Nestled within the white-sand beach and turquoise-blue Caribbean waters on Belize’s Ambergris Caye, this property features a 203-key oceanfront resort and more than 70 condominium homes. Arriving beachside in December 2021, and just a stroll from the heart of San Pedro Town, the property strikes the perfect balance between a private resort community and a familiar small-town connection. The Old World, colonial-style design echoes the country’s rich British heritage, featuring local Belizean hardwoods throughout and San Pedrano family heirlooms in the main lobby space.

Margaritaville Resort Belize: Margaritaville’s first Belizean oceanfront property (that can only be reached by boat), this island oasis is nestled within Ambergris Caye, and will feature 71 condo-style residences. Onsite amenities include a beach sports center, two separate pools, famous Margaritaville-style eateries, along with a 400-ft. private pier.

Four Seasons Resort and Residences Caye Chapel: Situated on a private island, located in the heart of Belize’s largest marine sanctuary, Caye Chapel is set to debut in 2021. Perched on the edge of the country’s UNESCO World Heritage-designated Barrier Reef, the 280-acre private island will be Four Seasons’ first resort in the country, with 50 private estates, 35 residences and 100 guestrooms and suites. A significant golf component with an 18-hole course designed by Greg Norman will also be debuted, along with a nature and conservation institute by noted explorer, Fabien Cousteau.

Unscripted Belize: Located within mere steps to the Caribbean Sea, Unscripted Belize will open its doors to vacationers in 2021. Featuring an open-air concept, the site will be home to 24 beachfront cabanas in the picturesque Kanantik Belize master plan community, which is just north of the popular destination, Placencia. The boutique property will boast an exclusive outdoor restaurant and full-service bar, along with two expansive pools, private boats and a plethora of popular Belize activities.
