MSC Seaside has returned to the sea for weekly 7-night cruises in the Western Mediterranean, featuring new destinations in Siracusa in Sicily and Taranto in Puglia, Italy.
The ship is the cruise line’s second vessel back at sea for the 2021 summer season, joining its sister ship MSC Grandiosa. Future flagship MSC Seashore is set to join the two cruise ships in the Mediterranean from August, all ships will operate under MSC’s health and safety protocol, which has been developed with a Blue Ribbon Panel.
MSC Seaside departed from Genoa, Italy on May 1, and then traveled to Valetta, Malta following a day at sea. The ship will later call at the port of Civitavecchia for Rome as part of its itinerary.
The Sicilian port of Siracusa will be a new port of call for MSC Seaside, offering a choice of protected shore excursions visiting historical and archaeological sites in this area, such as the Greek theater of Siracusa — the biggest ever built in Sicily and one of the largest in the Greek world.
The southern town of Taranto in Puglia is another new destination for MSC Cruises, offering winding alleyways and dozens of churches and palaces, as well as the National Archaeological Museum of Taranto (MArTA), which displays the history of Southern Italy and the roots of its culture.
MSC Cruises will also introduce private beach experience in Taranto from June, exclusively for MSC Seaside’s guests, where they can relax by the clear waters of the Ionian Sea.
MSC Seaside combines indoor and outdoor areas to connect guests with the sea, including a unique seafront promenade located low on Deck 8, and lined with places to dine, drink, lounge, swim and sunbathe. The ship also features the MSC Yacht Club for those looking for exclusivity and privacy with the facilities of a private club and 24-hour butler service.
