Margaritaville Debuts New Spa, Fitness and Tattoo Experiences
Margaritavilla at Sea is introducing a new collection of spa, fitness and lifestyle experiences aboard its Beachcomber ship. The new offerings will be anchored by the St. Somewhere Spa & Salon, Fins Up! Fitness Center and a new iteration of the Permanent Reminder Tattoo Studio.
“Beachcomber is helping bring the next evolution of Margaritaville at Sea to life across every part of the guest journey, with wellness playing a central role,” said Martha Brabham, Vice President of Design at Margaritaville at Sea, in a press release statement. “From the spa and salon to the fitness and tattoo studios, these venues are designed to feel welcoming, comfortable and connected to the energy of being at sea. Guests can spend the day slowing down, staying active or commemorating their trip in a way that’s uniquely personal.”
St. Somewhere Spa & Salon will offer a fresh design and stronger connection to the water, with treatment rooms positioned for ocean views, plus relaxation lounges and quiet spaces for guests to unwind before and after treatments. The treatment menu includes Margaritaville signatures such as the “Lost Shaker of Salt Scrub” with new, Beachcomber-exclusive treatments and a range of other massages, facials and salon services.
The Fins Up! Fitness Center aboard the Beachcomber will be the largest in the fleet, boasting a full range of equipment in a bright open setting, as well as separate yoga and studio rooms offering guided classes and low-impact workouts. While the Permanent Reminder Tattoo Studio will return with an expanded footprint and roster of world-class tattoo artists. The studio will offer guests the opportunity to create custom artwork inspired by a milestone, memory or simply the spirit of the trip itself. Located adjacent to the ship’s new Polynesian Lounge, the design of the studio will reflect the venue’s tiki-inspired atmosphere.
Beginning in 2027, Beachcomber will sail 4- to 8-night itineraries from PortMiami to the Southern and Eastern Caribbean. For more information, visit MargaritavilleAtSea.com.
Norwegian Cruise Line Reveals Opening Date for Great Tides Waterpark
Norwegian Cruise Line has announced that the grand opening of its new Great Tides Waterpark at Great Stirrup Cay, the Company’s private island in the Bahamas, will take place on Sept. 4, 2026, during Norwegian Luna’s seven-day Caribbean sailing.
All guests sailing to Great Stirrup Cay on or after Sept. 4, 2026 can purchase day passes to Great Tides Waterpark with seamless advance booking. Guests can also reserve private cabanas for up to six guests, which includes admission into the waterpark and offers shaded comfort just steps from the park’s signature Tidal Tower.
“Great Stirrup Cay continues to evolve as the premier private island destination in the Bahamas, and we’re excited to officially open Great Tides Waterpark on Sept. 4, 2026,” said Marc Kazlauskas, president of Norwegian Cruise Line, in a press release statement. “With the best activities for families and for every type of traveler—from high-energy slides to laid-back lagoon experiences—guests can purchase their day passes ahead and lock in an unforgettable day on the most spectacular private island in the Caribbean beginning tomorrow.”
Spanning nearly six acres, Great Tides Waterpark will include the 170-foot Tidal Tower standing at its center, and featuring the Breakwater Blasters—industry-first water coasters with downhill drops and uphill blasts within an inner tube—alongside the Whitewater Dash with two body slides; Rapid Mat Racers featuring two mat slides; and a selection of tube slides, Tropic Storm and Tropic Spiral, with spirals and spins for an adrenaline rush.
Additional highlights will include Cliffside Cove, home to the industry’s first and highest cliff jumps; The Great Slide, the Caribbean’s only four-person body slide; Fearless Falls racing slides; and the hidden Grotto Bar tucked beneath the action for prime viewing. Younger guests will be able to splash through Splash Cay, a 9,000-sf kids’ zone, while adventure seekers can float along the Wandering River, an over 800-foot, high-energy version of a lazy river. The waterpark builds on the recent transformation of Great Stirrup Cay, which includes the expansive Great Life Lagoon, featuring a beach-style entry pool and swim-up bars.
Travelers can visit Great Stirrup Cay year-round, with voyages sailing seasonally from convenient homeports including New York and Philadelphia as well as Florida ports in Jacksonville, Tampa, Orlando (Port Canaveral) and Miami.
Guests wishing to celebrate the grand opening of the waterpark can embark on Norwegian Luna’s seven-day Caribbean sailing from Miami on Aug. 29, 2026. Norwegian Luna offers itineraries through November 2026 with visits to Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic; St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands; and Tortola, British Virgin Islands as well as Great Stirrup Cay. For shorter sailings from Miami, Norwegian Getaway offers three- and four-night voyages to the Bahamas through October 2026.
