For clients looking beyond the usual summer hotspots in Europe, Sea Cloud Cruises’ four consecutive July 2027 voyages aboard Sea Cloud Spirit will trace the Atlantic coastlines of Britain, Ireland, France, Spain and Portugal, with a focus on smaller ports, islands and coastal communities.
The voyages, which trace a route from Dublin south to Lisbon, offer an alternative to the hotter Mediterranean summer, moving from the cooler climates of Britain, Ireland and France’s Atlantic coast south toward the Basque Country and Portugal.
The most extensive option is the 14-night Western Europe’s Hidden Gems, sailing from Dublin to Bilbao. It includes stops in Cobh and Cork, the subtropical Tresco Abbey Gardens, Dartmouth, Guernsey, Honfleur, Carnac, Belle-Ile-en-Mer, Bordeaux and San Sebastian. Additionally, wine and culinary expert Manuel Hornemann will accompany the voyage and offer culinary shore excursions.
The 6-night Dublin-to-Honfleur voyage, Enjoy Britain in Full Bloom, sails through Ireland, the Isles of Scilly, southern England and Guernsey, with visits to Cork’s historic English Market, the subtropical Abbey Gardens on Tresco, the Dartmouth Steam Railway and Guernsey’s wildflower-lined cliffs. During the 8-night Honfleur-to-Bilbao sailing, The Charm of the Atlantic Coast, which takes in Normandy, Brittany, Bordeaux and the Basque Country, passengers partake in a Calvados tasting, visit the 5,000-year-old megaliths of Carnac as well as the rugged coastline and artistic heritage of Belle-Île-en-Mer. The 7-night Bilbao-to-Lisbon itinerary, Sailing Time to Iberia, stops at Oviedo, Santiago de Compostela, the Islas Cies and Porto.
“We’re going to places that reward curiosity and that’s the point,” said Kevin Smith, President, Americas, Sea Cloud Cruises, in a media statement. “It is what our Summer 2027 voyages through Northern Europe are all about. The smaller ports along the Atlantic coast. You step off the yacht and suddenly you’re wandering through a subtropical garden on Tresco or taking in the wild, romantic coastline of Belle-Ile-en-Mer. There’s time to slow down, soak it all in, and see where the day takes you. That’s the kind of experience people remember on Sea Cloud Cruises.”
