Trafalgar has named Victoria Cruises as its exclusive partner for its Yangtze River cruises. The tour operator is enhancing its popular Classic China with Yangtze Cruise and Chengdu itinerary with a luxury river sailing up the Yangtze on the five-star, 218-passenger Victoria Selina, along with three nights in Chengdu to observe the giant panda. The company will offer seven departures for the expanded 17-day program through Oct. 13, 2017 with 15 additional departures planned for 2018.

While sailing on the Yangtze River, guests will be able to view the Three Gorges from their own private balcony. Excursions may include a guided tour of the Three Gorges Dam, a visit to Shibaozhai, and a scenic voyage along one of the Yangtze’s tranquil tributaries via traditional Chinese sampan. The onboard experience features informative lectures, nightly entertainment, and a dining program designed by Emmy Award-winning celebrity chef Walter Staib.

In addition to sailing the Yangtze River with Victoria Cruises, travelers will experience the old World charm of China’s past in Beijing, and the Tang Dynasty capital of Xi’an, along with the modernity of Shanghai, and the spicy Sichuan culinary style of Chengdu. As a special treat, vacationers will spend a full morning at the Chengdu Research Base of a non-profit facility for giant pandas and other rare animals.
