The Nevis Tourism Authority (NTA) is strengthening its ties with the U.S. travel trade with an extensive series of events across the Northeast this fall. The NTA will participate in over a dozen travel advisor association meetings, trade shows and sales blitzes in major markets, including Maine, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Maryland and New York.
“These events provide the NTA with valuable opportunities to showcase Nevis’ barefoot luxury, sustainability initiatives and unique selling points to advisors in key feeder markets,” said Pheon Jones, Director of Sales and Marketing, in a press statement. “By building stronger connections with the travel trade, we’re ensuring Nevis remains top-of-mind for advisors and their clients seeking authentic, high-end Caribbean experiences.”
Nevis: The Finest Things Come in Small Packages
The initiative is in place to reinforce Nevis’ position as a premier boutique luxury destination, demonstrating the NTA’s ongoing commitment to trade partnerships. It also serves as a precursor to the joint Nevis & St. Kitts Travel Agent Roadshow planned for Q1 2026, further highlighting the authority’s long-term investment in the travel trade community.
Highlights include:
- ASTA Northern New England (Maine and New Hampshire) Tradeshow – Portland, Maine (Oct. 15)
- ASTA New England Tradeshow – Boston, MA (Oct. 16)
- ASTA Central PA Symposium – Tannersville, PA (Oct. 19–21)
- ASTA Maryland Tradeshow – Baltimore, MD (October 22)
- AWTA (Alliance of Westchester Travel Agents) Annual Tradeshow – New Rochelle, NY (Oct. 27)
The importance of this engagement is underscored by recent industry trends. Data from Virtuoso Travel Week 2025 reveals a 76 percent increase in people seeking out Virtuoso advisors this year, with 95 percent of clients stating they would recommend an advisor to a friend. This growth, particularly in the luxury travel sector, emphasizes the value of NTA’s focus on the advisor channel.
Nevis, part of the Federation of St. Kitts & Nevis, offers a unique Caribbean experience. At just 36 square miles, this tiny member of the Leeward Islands of the West Indies is characterized by its unspoiled landscapes and authentic West Indian spirit. The island’s centerpiece is the majestic Nevis Peak, a volcanic formation that rises above turquoise waters, lush greenery and pristine white-sand beaches.
What sets Nevis apart is its commitment to preserving its natural charm. The island has no cruise ports, high-rise developments or fast-food chains, providing visitors with an untouched experience that encourages a slower pace and a deeper connection with nature.
Nevis also boasts a rich historical legacy. It’s the birthplace of Alexander Hamilton, one of the United States’ Founding Fathers, and the location of Admiral Horatio Nelson’s 18th-century marriage to local widow Frances Nisbet.
