As wellness travel evolves beyond spa menus and fitness classes, travelers are increasingly seeking experiences designed to support long-term wellbeing. Paradisus La Perla is leaning into that shift.
The adults-only, all-inclusive resort in Riviera Maya has become the first property in the Melia Hotels International portfolio to earn the Wellness in Travel & Tourism (WITT) Certified Seal, a global designation recognizing hotels that integrate wellness throughout the guest journey
“At Paradisus La Perla, every aspect of the guest experience is intentionally designed to support longevity, restoration and meaningful connection to destination,” said Rodolfo Cobos, General Manager at Paradisus La Perla, in a media statement. “Achieving WITT Certification marks an important milestone for the resort and reinforces our commitment to redefining luxury all-inclusive travel through thoughtful, transformative wellness experiences.”
The certification comes on the heels of the debut of Paradisus La Perla’s expanded wellness concept, unveiled in May 2026. The 393-suite resort—including 58 swim-up suites and 148 The Reserve accommodations—blends ancestral Mayan traditions with modern recovery techniques aimed at supporting guests’ physical, emotional and mental wellbeing.
Wellness Beyond the Spa
Rather than treating wellness as an add-on, the property has woven it into its core guest experience through four pillars: Move, Nourish, Rest & Recover and Mind & Connect. The result is a structured, holistic program that includes movement classes, mindfulness practices and conscious living workshops.
Guests can participate in Red Light Yoga, Disco Spinning, Reformer Pilates powered by Technogym and breathing sessions paired with ice plunges inspired by the Wim Hof Method.
The resort has also introduced a dedicated Longevity Suite featuring vibroacoustic loungers, binaural sound technology, PEMF therapy, compression recovery systems and red-light treatments designed to promote restorative sleep, relaxation and cellular recovery.
Personalized wellness plans—including Calm & Rebalance, Endurance & Longevity and Enrich & Discovery—allow guests to tailor their stay through integrated fitness, spa therapies, nutrition guidance, destination-led cultural experiences and in-room rituals. The property’s YHI Spa, inspired by Mayan healing traditions, features 16 treatment rooms, a water ritual circuit, sauna and steam facilities, and a healthy beverage bar.
WITT certification evaluates more than 100 criteria across five pillars: Healthy Eating, Holistic Healing, Nature, Movement and Local Impact.
