Greater Miami and Miami Beach give dogs their own itinerary: leash-free time at Haulover Dog Beach, shallow-water cooling at Hobie Island Beach, shaded paths through Coconut Grove and, across the causeway, designated hours at Miami Beach’s Bark Beaches in South Beach, Mid-Beach and North Beach.
- The Betsy, a Michelin Key hotel in South Beach’s Art Deco Historic District, built pets into its identity. Resident golden retrievers Betsy and Rosa (its self-styled Canine Executive Officers) and rescued German shepherd Daisy meet guests at a weekly Friday happy hour and on daily rounds. House-made treats wait at the front desk, and 50 percent of the one-time pet fee goes to the Harare SPCA in Zimbabwe, home country of co-owner and art curator Lesley Goldwasser.
- Cadillac Hotel & Beach Club, Autograph Collection, a 357-guestroom oceanfront property in Mid-Beach, runs its Cadillac Pet Program with outdoor seating at Donna Mare Italian Chophouse, a complimentary Waggo bed, food and water bowls, and Miami Beach Beachwalk access next door.

Set along historic Route 66, Americana Motor Hotel works as a base for Northern Arizona trips with dogs in tow. The Plaza Hotel Pioneer Park, El Paso, Texas
The Plaza Hotel Pioneer Park is adding several dog-focused offers this summer. On Aug. 26, guests can stop by the La Perla rooftop for a $20 Paws and Pour hour, which includes a “pupmosa” and two gourmet treats for dogs. The hotel’s Sun City Pawcation package covers a longer stay, adding a bandana, a pupcake baked by Pastry Chef Rojo, a welcome sign for the dog at check-in, water bowls, a plush dog bed and waste bags.
The hotel also reduced its pet fee to $35 per pet, down from $75, for up to two pets under 50 pounds.
