Azamara Cruises is ushering in a new era of onboard entertainment, beginning with Azamara Pursuit. Known for Destination Immersion and Extended Destination Days, the line has partnered with RWS Global to create a fresh series of original productions for its fleet.
“At Azamara Cruises, our commitment to Destination Immersion extends to every aspect of the guest experience including our evenings onboard,” said Simon Blacoe, Vice President of Hotel Operations, in a press statement. “As the first ship to introduce this new entertainment program, Azamara Pursuit sets the stage for a new era of onboard experiences—bringing the energy, creativity, and cultural richness of the destinations we visit directly to life through high-energy performances.”
Azamara Trips the Light Fantastic
The program premiered in April during the Japan Intensive Cruise, visiting Kobe, Nagasaki and Tokyo. Azamara Pursuit is the first in the fleet to introduce the lineup, setting the stage for additional ships to follow. The debut includes four productions blending narrative-driven performances, live musicians and theatrical design. Two of the shows—“Viva Vegas” and “Yesterday, Today and Forever”—are exclusive to this vessel, while “Written in the Stars” and “Vinyl Records: The Studio Sessions” will eventually reach the rest of the fleet.
“Viva Vegas” delivers a 40-minute concert inspired by the golden age of Las Vegas lounge acts, combining Rat Pack flair with modern pop energy. The performance pairs choreography and storytelling with a setting of neon lights, crystal details and midcentury style. “Yesterday, Today and Forever” honors the music and cultural influence of The Beatles through live vocals, interactive staging and period-inspired costumes, revisiting milestone moments from the band’s global rise.
The fleet-wide lineup includes “Written in the Stars,” which follows a story of two lovers guided through celestial myth and imagination. Set in a grand library that opens onto a world of performance and light, the story unfolds through song and movement. “Vinyl Records: The Studio Sessions” transforms the stage into a 1970s-style recording studio, combining multimedia projection, live instruments and dance to create a rhythmic journey through music history.
Passengers aboard Azamara Pursuit can experience both the exclusive and fleetwide shows before they roll out. The new productions will next appear on Azamara Journey beginning May 21, 2026, then on Azamara Quest in November 2026, and finally on Azamara Onward in March 2027. Each will feature the same storytelling-driven approach designed to elevate evenings at sea through original performance.
