Windstar Cruises has unveiled plans for its newest vessel, Star Seeker, set to join the fleet in December 2025. The 112-suite yacht’s inaugural season itineraries, covering the Caribbean, Alaska and Japan, are now open for bookings.
The maiden voyage, departing from Malaga, Spain on Decc. 28, 2025, will cross the Atlantic with a stop in Santa Cruz de Tenerife for New Year’s Eve celebrations. This transatlantic journey ends in Miami on Jan. 13, 2026, allowing your clients plenty of time to explore the ship’s new features, including the Fitness Center, World Spa by Windstar, a new specialty restaurant and the Yacht Club.
Star Seeker’s Debut
Miami will host the ship’s christening ceremony, which will include the chosen godparent breaking a champagne bottle against the hull. Windstar staff, partners, travel advisors and media will also have opportunities to tour the ship during invitation-only events in Miami.
Star Seeker‘s first Caribbean cruise, an 8-day journey from Miami to San Juan, departs on Jan. 15, 2026. The itinerary includes stops in the Dominican Republic and the British Virgin Islands. Following several Caribbean sailings, the yacht will cross the Panama Canal en route to Alaska and Japan.
The Alaska season runs from May to August 2026, offering various itinerary options. These include extended voyages from San Juan to Juneau (49 days), Costa Rica to Juneau (25 days), and Mexico to Juneau (17 days). Once in Alaska, Star Seeker will operate two main itineraries: a 7- or 8-day Scenic Alaska cruise and a longer 10-, 11-, or 12-day Alaskan Splendors cruise sailing between Vancouver and Juneau. Ports like Haines and Wrangell provide access to less crowded Alaskan landscapes.
Windstar’s Signature Expedition program returns, offering guests close encounters with Alaska’s scenery and wildlife. Activities include RIB boat explorations and kayaking from the ship’s Watersports Platform in areas such as Misty Fjords National Monument and Tracy Arm Fjords. Onboard expedition guides will lead these excursions and provide educational presentations.
Star Seeker will cross the Pacific to Japan in early September, offering the Grand Japan itinerary on four dates through October. Highlights include cruising the Inland Sea, visiting Hashima Island, exploring the Peace Memorial Parks in Nagasaki and Hiroshima and calling at smaller ports like Takamatsu and Karatsu. An optional 3-day inland tour of Osaka and Kyoto is available.
The addition of Star Seeker makes Windstar’s return to Alaska and Japan, which it last visited in 2023, possible. The cruise line is developing additional itineraries for the new Southeast Asian vessel.
