August is National Dog Month, and these pet-friendly accommodations around the world each offer something unique for traveling dog lovers and their four-legged friends.

1. Hôtel Barrière Le Carl Gustaf – Saint Barth
The five-star Hôtel Barrière Le Carl Gustaf has launched a new Hotel for Dog Lovers package that includes a VIP reception with a personalized bowl in the name of the dog. Other amenities include a dog bandana with the hotel’s colors as well as access to a doggie bar in their room and at Fouquet’s restaurant, created by 3-star Michelin Chef Pierre Gagnaire. Daily dog walking, sitters, grooming and a room service menu by Fouquet’s catered to dogs is offered for an additional fee. 2. Kimpton Hotel Eventi – New York City
Travelers looking to celebrate National Dog Month in New York City can take advantage of the Kimpton Hotel Eventi’s Welcome & Playdate package. As well as welcome amenities of luxurious dog bathrobes, toys and treats, the package includes a Yappy Hour offering Best Buds’ Brew Dog Beer made from pasture-raised beef bone marrow, so guests can enjoy a drink with their furry friends. Also included is a personalized photoshoot of your pet for to remember your stay, and the hotel’s General Manager will even take your dog on a walk, giving pet parents a well-deserved break.

Kimpton hotels also eliminate the pet fees and size/weight limit, meaning that all pets stay free. 3. InterContinental New York Barclay – New York City
InterContinental New York Barclay opened its doors in 1926, and its resident dog, Bowie the Morkie, is known to “put the bark in Barklay”. Guests traveling with their dogs are welcomed to stay #BarklayStyle with the Pooch Package that treats pups like VIPs. The package, which can be booked online, includes an upgrade to deluxe accommodations and pet welcome amenities such as plush toy bones, dog bowls, a dog bed and blanket, as well as a waived pet fee. 4. Andaz San Diego – San Diego, California
Now available at the Andaz San Diego, the Pampered Pup package includes amenities such as customized robes with monogrammed initials for both parent and dog, and a grooming session with makeovers for both pet and parent. Guests can also choose from an on-site photoshoot for parent and pet at the Andaz San Diego rooftop or a one-of-a-kind pet portrait. 5. Six Senses Crans-Montana – Switzerland
Six Senses Crans-Montana is a year-round resort in the Swiss Alps that opened in June 2023. Summer activities include swimming lakes and forest hiking through the mountains, while in winter, the ski slopes descend from the Plaine Morte Glacier at 3,000 meters. The curated Paw Paw Program includes nutritious meals for pets, as well as the choice of one of three 30-minute spa treatments.
