There’s quite a bit of entertainment-inspired travel going around these days, and we’ve rounded up two options that will take clients around the world in the footsteps of some of the big and little screen’s most interesting people.

Travel Like Bond, James Bond

Luxury travel company Black Tomato has partnered with EON Productions to expand its James Bond-inspired travel offerings. Building on the collaboration’s initial success in Europe, it now extends into 13 new countries.

Travel advisors now have an even ampler list of destinations that follow in the steps of this international man of mystery. The experiences are designed to stand alone or be part of a larger journey and include all the adventure, exclusivity and exotic transportation that resonated with travelers of the European series.

Highlights include Jamaica’s tropical backdrop, Thailand’s scenic vistas, Japan’s cultural depths, Istanbul’s historical crossroads and Iceland’s rugged landscapes. Each location is connected to the Bond films’ famous scenes and history. Your clients can now embark on journeys that follow the settings of specific Bond films, such as Spectre, which took Bond around the globe to locations such as Mexico City, London, Italy, Solden in Austria and Morocco.

The trend of “set-jetting” is at an all-time high, with a noticeable rise in inquiries for these Bond-inspired adventures. Clients looking to experience the epic nature of the 007 films can expect to receive original call sheets, bespoke documents and exclusive insights into the films’ locations. In addition, each trip includes a special Globe-Trotter attaché case inspired by the first Bond film, Dr. No.

Walk Japan Connects with FX’s Shogun Miniseries

Walk Japan presents a series of walking tours that take your clients into the feudal history and stories depicted in FX’s miniseries Shogun. These cultural and historical explorations invite your clients to walk the ancient trails of Japan, following in the footsteps of samurais and shoguns.

The Tokyo Tour is a concise two-day excursion through the historic heart of Tokyo, Nihonbashi, and includes visits to significant sites from the Edo period, such as the shogun’s castle. The Tokaido Trail allows travelers to follow in the footsteps of the characters from Shogun, with an itinerary that extends across seven days along Japan’s ancient highway. The Nakasendo Way offers an extended 11-day itinerary, taking clients through the site of the Battle of Sekigahara, with stays in traditional Japanese accommodations.

Of note is the fact that Walk Japan’s tours are informed by deep historical knowledge, with the company’s CEO also leading the Williams Adams Club, which has direct ties to the historical figures that inspired Shogun. The club’s vice president is a descendant of the famed daimyo, Tokugawa Ieyasu.
