Sure, it’s almost summer, but American Airlines knows advisors are already planning wintertime high-season escapes for their clients. With that in mind, the airline is expanding its offerings to the Caribbean and Latin America. In the winter of 2024, American Airlines is introducing eight new routes and augmenting services.

“Customers will have more reasons to choose American than ever before for nonstop fun in the sun this year,” said Brian Znotins, American’s Senior Vice President of Network and Schedule Planning, in a press statement. “We are excited to continue growing our network to the region with more flights this winter to the Caribbean and Latin America than any other U.S. carrier ever.”

This expansion is part of American’s broader strategy to offer an 11 percent increase in departures and a 10 percent increase in seating capacity compared to its previous record winter schedule in 2023. Reservations for these routes will open via the airline’s website and mobile app starting May 20.

American’s New Routes and Destinations

American will be the exclusive major U.S. airline servicing St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVD) and La Romana, Dominican Republic (LRM), adding these to over 20 unique nonstop services from the U.S.

Of note is the fact that when your clients arrive in La Romana, they will already be on the grounds of Casa de Campo Resort and Villas, a 7,000-acre luxury playground with hotel accommodations, private villas, eight restaurants, three Pete Dye golf courses and much more.

Flight Schedule Highlights:

  • Charlotte (CLT) to St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVD)
    • New Saturday-only service starting Dec. 7 on a Boeing 737
  • Miami (MIA) to La Romana, Dominican Republic (LRM)
    • New daily service starting Dec. 5 on an Airbus A319
  • New York (JFK) to various destinations:
    • Bridgetown, Barbados (BGI): New daily service starting Nov. 5 on a Boeing 737
    • St. Lucia (UVF), St. Maarten (SXM), SVD: New Saturday-only service starting Dec. 7

    • New Saturday-only service starting Nov. 9 and Dec. 7 respectively

American Airlines is also extending service on 16 routes to cater to the high demand during the winter season. This includes daily services to Antigua (ANU) from Charlotte and increased flights to Los Cabos, Mexico (SJD) from both Chicago and Los Angeles. Additionally, services to Nassau, Bahamas (NAS), and several destinations in Mexico, such as Huatulco (HUX) and Oaxaca (OAX), will see a significant boost starting in December.
