Almare Beach Resort Las Terrenas, Curio by Hilton, is set to open in 2028 on the Samana Peninsula in the Dominican Republic, bringing a new beachfront property to Las Terrenas. The resort will offer 252 accommodations: 90 guestrooms and 162 residential units. Residential unit owners will have the option to add their units to the hotel inventory, and select ground-floor units will include private plunge pools.

“Almare Beach Resort Las Terrenas showcases the elevated qualities that guests seek from Curio Collection,” said Brooke Thomas, brand leader, Curio Collection by Hilton, in a press statement. “This signing strengthens our presence in the Caribbean and Latin America and adds to a global portfolio of more than 200 remarkable properties, giving travelers more ways to experience Hilton’s world-class hospitality in extraordinary destinations.”

Hilton Bets Big on the Caribbean

The new resort’s name draws from the Italian phrase “al mare,” meaning “towards the sea.” Amenities will include a beach club with private cabanas, four outdoor swimming pools with adult and family-friendly options, two padel courts, gardens, a full-service spa and a fitness center. Dining will be covered by a signature beach club restaurant, an all-day dining venue and a poolside bar.

Las Terrenas offers your clients a new place to explore. The area offers hiking trails, waterfalls, whale-watching excursions and proximity to Los Haitises National Park, known for its caves and mangroves.

The signing reflects Hilton’s broader push in the Caribbean and Latin America, where the company currently operates more than 300 hotels across more than 35 countries and territories, with 150 additional hotels in the development pipeline. In the Caribbean, Hilton plans to nearly double its portfolio of nearly 50 properties. In the Dominican Republic, the company wants to more than double its current 9-hotel footprint.

Lifestyle and luxury are central to that growth strategy. Hilton’s Caribbean and Latin America portfolio already includes more than 100 lifestyle and luxury hotels, backed by a partnership with Small Luxury Hotels of the World, with 50 more projects in the region’s pipeline.

The Curio Collection by Hilton, one of Hilton’s fastest-growing brands in the region, now has 25 properties in the Caribbean and Latin America—bolstered by the recent opening of Zemi Miches Punta Cana All-Inclusive Resort, Curio Collection by Hilton.
