Antigua and Barbuda has taken a significant step towards modernizing its entry procedures by introducing a new online immigration form, a digital solution that allows travelers to complete their immigration paperwork up to 72 hours before departure. The system’s user-friendly interface automatically populates relevant sections after passport scanning, significantly reducing processing time at VC Bird International Airport.

Upon completion, travelers receive a QR code to present upon arrival, expediting the immigration and customs process. This innovation has cut processing times by 50 percent, greatly improving the arrival experience. The Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority (ABTA) reports that plans are underway to extend this system to sea arrivals and private jet passengers, further streamlining entry procedures across all points of entry.

“The overall travel journey is a major priority for us on the U.S. team. So far, this news has been welcomed by our partners in the travel trade, so we’re eager to see how it continues to positively impact the travel experience for U.S. travelers visiting our beautiful destination,” said Dean Fenton, the U.S. Director of Tourism, in a press statement.

Antigua Sailing Week, the culmination of the yachting season, transforms Antigua’s coastline into a spectacular display of competitive sailing, appealing to both seasoned yachting enthusiasts and casual observers.

The event’s appeal extends beyond the races themselves. After-race parties have gained international recognition, bringing together competitors, visitors and locals in a festive atmosphere. The heart of the event is located within Antigua and Barbuda’s only World Heritage Site, known for its preserved colonial architecture and picturesque harbors.

For clients interested in a closer view of the action, the Antigua Sailing Week Committee organizes Chase the Race excursions on leisure vessels. These trips allow spectators to experience the excitement of the racecourse up close.

Antigua and Barbuda’s reputation as a premier yachting destination is further solidified by other notable events such as the International Charter Yacht Show and the RORC Caribbean 600.
