Travel advisors, if you have clients passionate about golf, now you have a reason to recommend Omni Amelia Island Resort & Spa. The oceanfront resort, set on 1,350 acres at the tip of a barrier island off Northeast Florida, is celebrating the grand reopening of its legendary Oak Marsh Golf Course, following an extensive $7.4 million renovation by Beau Welling Design.
The project modernizes Pete Dye’s original 1972 design while preserving its architectural intentions.

The 18-hole layout features newly rebuilt greens with TifEagle Bermudagrass, redesigned bunkers with improved drainage and sand and “ribbon-tee” areas allowing for flexible tee placements. Fairways, roughs and tee boxes have all been upgraded with Bimini Bermudagrass.
Beyond aesthetics, the renovation enhances playability, with upgraded irrigation systems and turf growing conditions that make each round more consistent for die-hard golfers. The resort also replaced all cart paths and upgraded the driving range.
For travelers who love variety, Omni Amelia Island is also home to Little Sandy, a 10-hole, par-3 course designed for all ages and skill levels, also by Beau Welling Design. Its compact holes (30–125 yards) wind through scenic marshland, and an 18-hole putting course adds to the fun.
Omni Amelia Island is for golf-loving clients seeking an upscale coastal escape. Alongside championship golf, the resort boasts oceanfront accommodations, a full-service spa, multiple pools and 3.5 miles of beach, making it an ideal mix of recreation and relaxation.
