Pursuit—known for its collection of experiences in northerly climes such as Alaska and the Canadian Rockies—has its eyes on more balmy destinations with the recent acquisition of Tabacon Thermal Resort & Spa in Costa Rica’s Arenal region.
Located in the heart of Costa Rica’s Arenal region, Tabacon, a wellness oasis, spans 570 acres of rainforest and is known for its access to a network of naturally flowing thermal mineral springs.
“We are thrilled to expand into the Costa Rica market with the acquisition of a premier tourism experience that aligns perfectly with Pursuit’s strategic vision,” said David Barry, President and CEO of Pursuit, in a media statement. “Tabacon Thermal Resort & Spa exemplifies the immersive, place-based experience we aim to deliver—rooted in natural wonder, cultural richness and a strong commitment to sustainability. This acquisition provides immediate scale and unlocks compelling opportunities for long-term growth in a high-demand destination.”
This Costa Rican eco resort features 105 rooms, an internationally renowned spa and signature culinary experiences. The acquisition also includes the nearby Choyin Rio Termal hot springs attraction designed for broader access to the thermal river.
“As we welcome Pursuit to Costa Rica, we are proud to become part of a global brand who like us, provide exceptional and authentic hospitality experiences in stunning and iconic destinations,” said Andrey Gomez, GM for Tabacon Thermal Resort & Spa, in a media statement.
