How to Become a Costa Rica Specialist

The Caribbean coastline in Costa Rica.

Recommend offers two Costa Rica Specialist Programs on edu.recommend.com. The first one (Part 1) provides general destination education, and the second one, Part 2, focuses on “green” tourism.

Costa Rica Specialist Program – Part 1 is an introduction to this Central American country, focusing on its history, culture and geography. It also features suggested itineraries for specific markets. Costa Rica Specialist Program – Part 2 includes information on Certificate for Sustainable Tourism (CST)-rated hotels and resorts. The additions are across all green leaf ratings (1-5) for properties throughout the country. In addition to the CST ratings, the program offers information on rural tourism and how to sell sustainable tourism.

Benefits for each course include:

• Listing of you and your company as a Costa Rica Specialist on the Costa Rica Tourism Board’s website, visitcostarica.com, and on recommend.travel’s Costa Rica Specialist Finder (includes telephone, address and direct emailing functionality)

• Three continuing education credits from The Travel Institute or two certification credits towards the Association of Canadian Travel Agencies

• Personalized full color, printable certificate
