Windstar Cruises announced year-round sailings in Tahiti with continuous voyages starting May 26, 2015 on board the renovated 148-passenger Wind Spirit.

Sailings include the 7-day Dreams of Tahiti journey and the new extended 10- or 11-day Tahiti and the Tuamotu Islands. The Dreams of Tahiti voyage begins in Papeete and sails to Moorea, Tahaa, Raiatea, Huahine, and Bora Bora. The Tahiti and the Tuamotu Islands itinerary sails four times in 2015 and seven times in 2016; the sailing includes the same stops as the Dreams of Tahiti itinerary, plus Takapoto and Rangiroa in the Tuamotus, and two days at sea. The 11-day voyage also visits Fakarava, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. Prior to the May 2015 sailing, the Wind Spirit will undergo stateroom renovations from transformed seating areas to new dressers, and a more open layout.

Windstar is also expanding its shore excursion offerings to include such adventures as private snorkeling at a Tahitian black pearl farm in Raiatea, where guests can find and keep their own pearls while learning about the art of pearl production (the excursion ends with a champagne sunset cruise along the coral reef). As of 2015, each Windstar voyage will include a complimentary Private Event, offering insight into the region. On these Tahiti itineraries, the Private Event takes place in Bora Bora as guests are transported on a catamaran to a private island for a traditional Tahitian dinner cooked in an ahima’a—a Tahitian earth oven—followed by a traditional dance and fire show.
