3 Reasons Why Dubai Is the Place to be for Luxury

In Dubai, luxury can be as down-to-earth, dreamy or extravagant as your client needs. Here are three not-to-be-missed experiences to consider for your client’s trip.

1. Bask with the Bedouin

During an outing with the Bedouin, Dubai’s oldest inhabitants, the traditions and secrets of those who roamed the Arabian Desert more than a century ago are explored. It begins with a camel caravan ride that takes groups to an authentic Bedouin village in the heart of the Al Marmoom Desert Conservation Reserve, the largest unfenced nature reserve in the United Arab Emirates. Here, they can settle in for cooking demonstrations, Arabic coffee-making, falconry and henna painting.

2. Indulge in the Al Fahidi Historical District

The Arabian Tea House in the Al Fahidi Historical District, one of the oldest heritage sites in the city, offers its own blend of culture through more than 150 different types of tea, including mint lemonade or black tea with house herbs and fruit. This district is also one of the last wind tower quarters on the Arab side of the Gulf; a guided walking tour sees the conversion of the old buildings and their towers that funneled air down into the homes of the wealthy into shady cafes, art galleries, tucked away courtyards and quirky little shops. Guests can follow this up with a tour of the Dubai Museum, housed in the Al Fahidi Fort, the oldest existing building in the city. Artifacts here date as far back as 3,000 BC.

3. Be Immersed in a Unique Island Experience at
Five Palm Jumeriah

On the tree-shaped Palm Jumeirah island, the 470-room Five Palm Jumeirah hotel is offering a luxe experience of another kind. Guests can drive supercars straight into the middle of the new nightclub venue, the Secret Room—designed in the style of the 18th century. Other venues worth checking out here is The Penthouse, an adults-only rooftop day club and evening lounge with glass-lined swimming pools and spectacular views of the Dubai skyline; the hotel’s nearly 6,500-sf ballroom with floor-to-ceiling windows and views of the Dubai Marina; and the My Five yacht for soirees that need to impress smaller groups.

Five Palm also offers its own luxe Bedouin experiences that include heading into the desert in a vintage 1965 Bentley while viewing the exotic native wildlife, a traditional Emirati breakfast at a Bedouin camp located on the property of the royal family, a live falconry demonstration, yola dancing, traditional henna and Bedouin storytelling.
