A Staple in the Florida Keys

Located in Islamorada, often called the “Sportfishing Capital of the World,” Cheeca Lodge has built its reputation around world-class fishing, waterfront accommodations and easy access to the Florida Keys’ reefs, flats and backcountry waters.

Bass Pro Shops says it plans to enhance the guest experience while maintaining the property’s historic character and connection to the destination.

The resort offers a mix of guestrooms, suites and cottages, many with ocean views, alongside amenities that appeal to both couples and families. Guests can enjoy three swimming pools, a full-service spa, a 9-hole Jack Nicklaus-designed par-3 golf course, tennis and pickleball courts, waterfront dining and a 525-foot fishing pier.

The acquisition also strengthens Bass Pro Shops’ presence in Islamorada, where its nearby World Wide Sportsman Store & Marina has long served as a hub for anglers heading into Florida Bay, the Everglades and offshore waters.

Cheeca Lodge’s legacy dates back decades and has attracted generations of sportfishing enthusiasts, helping establish Islamorada as one of North America’s premier fishing destinations. Under Bass Pro Shops’ ownership, the resort is expected to continue emphasizing outdoor recreation, conservation and authentic Florida Keys experiences.
