Scenic Group marks its 40th anniversary with new luxury river ships, yacht launches and expanded itineraries across Europe, Asia and beyond through 2028.
The company will celebrate its 40th anniversary this October with guest and travel partner events worldwide, while advancing an ambitious expansion across its river cruise and luxury yacht brands, Scenic and Emerald Cruises.

Scenic & Emerald Expand River Cruise Offerings
Scenic Group will introduce new itineraries and vessels across several major river cruise markets, giving travel advisors more options for clients seeking luxury and ultra-luxury experiences.
In France, Emerald Lumi will expand Emerald Cruises & Tours’ river cruise offerings on the Seine in 2027.
The company will also expand in India, introducing itineraries on the Hooghly River in 2027, followed by a planned ship for the Brahmaputra River in 2028.
In Southeast Asia, Scenic Spirit II and Scenic Spirit III will join the fleet on the Mekong River in 2028, further strengthening Scenic’s ultra-luxury river cruise presence in the region.
Emerald Yacht Cruises Adds Ships and Destinations
Emerald Yacht Cruises will expand its fleet with Emerald Raiya in 2027 and Emerald Xara in 2028. The new yachts will broaden the brand’s destination portfolio, including itineraries in the Seychelles.
Scenic Eclipse II will also return to Asia Pacific in 2028, alongside Emerald Xara’s arrival, strengthening Scenic Group’s presence in the region.
Scenic Ikon to Debut in 2028
Scenic Group will introduce Scenic Ikon in the Mediterranean in April 2028, with Antarctica included in the yacht’s inaugural season.
The launch will mark the next chapter for Scenic Discovery Yachts, the company’s ultra-luxury yacht collection, and provide travel advisors with another option for clients interested in immersive destination experiences.
Scenic Group Celebrates 40 Years With Guests and Partners
Throughout October, guests sailing with Scenic and Emerald Cruises & Tours can enjoy anniversary dining events, themed entertainment and commemorative experiences.
The company has also scheduled select Scenic & Emerald Rewards loyalty departures during the anniversary month. These include the annual Scenic Discovery Yachts Chairman’s Voyage in the U.S., featuring special events in Wilmington, Charleston and Key West.
Another featured departure is a Scenic Romantic Rhine & Moselle river cruise with a Switzerland land extension and an exclusive dinner in Lucerne hosted by Scenic Group management.
